CLARITY Act vs GENIUS Act: What’s the Difference and Why Both Matter for Crypto
In 2025, Washington took a major step toward answering at least part of that question with the GENIUS Act, landmark legislation establishing a federal framework for payment stablecoins. Then came the CLARITY Act, a much broader attempt to establish rules for the wider digital asset market. The two laws are often discussed together, but they are not the same thing.
